What it means
By the time a film is finished everyone who made it knows what it means. A person seeing it cold finds out whether the story survived. Their unaided answer to what the product is and why it matters is evidence. A model's or a designer's rating of its own work is not, and the double-read check a designer runs on their own copy is unreliable for the same reason.
